How the cup simulator works
National teams play the 2026 World Cup format: 48 teams in twelve groups of four, everyone plays everyone over three matchdays. The top two of each group and the eight best third-placed teams advance, and the knockout stage starts in the round of 32. Clubs use the classic 32-team format: eight groups and a round of 16. A win gives 3 points and a draw 1; ties are broken by goal difference and then by goals scored.
There are no draws in the knockout stage: if the match ends level, extra time is played and, if it persists, a penalty shootout. Goals are shared among each team's players according to their position and level, which is why forwards usually dominate the top scorers table.
